Godolphin Reach Out works with older and vulnerable residents to improve their quality of life, reducing isolation and enabling independent life.
Using health and wellbeing activities and partnerships, we work with individuals qnd in groups through regualr weekly and one-off events.
MONDAY
Meet up Monday
‘Meet Up’ Mondays includes talks, activities and visits after a ‘cuppa’ and includes the Home Library Service book drop. You can order books one month and exchange your books the next and a Monthly Walk with the Ramblers (short and long) or stay at the chapel for Board Games
Monday Movement
Move More weekly starting at 1.30pm and finishing at about 3.15pm. This is an NHS sponsored course; well designed and aimed for those who are less able to attend our other fitness events - although all are Welcome! It's about helping with gentle movements and balance. We are limited to 10 spaces and there is an NHS form to complete before you are able to join. This will also mean that Carers can attend the Tai Chi with Joe while the cared for attends Move More being in the same building but get a break! Tai Chi 2 - 3pm
Very gentle exercise with Joe for the whole body combining both Tai Chi and Qigong (a Chinese system of posture and movement, breathing and medication).
Thanks to a successful bid to the Movement Fund for Sport England. We are able to subsidise the Tai Chi sessions so you will be able to pay £20 for the 4 sessions and we will top up the rest. This subsidy will run initially to 31st December 26. You will need to pay for the 4 week blocks even if you might miss a week for a holiday the subsidy is for anyone over55 / or on benefits/ or with a disability/ a carer otherwise the full cost is £35 for the four sessions https://salmontaichi.co.uk

Week 1 - Our Monthly Repair Café
Bring your repairs! We have a great team who will look at Digital, Electronic and electrical items ….
We also have every colour of thread and a sewing machine for clothes repairs, curtains etc!
Repairs are free but you will need to buy any parts needed and we ask for a voluntary donation. We were very busy last month, so really hope there will be lots to help with this month
Week 2 - We’re singing for wellbeing
You don’t need to be able to sing…. just willing to have some fun with a range of traditional and modern songs. We have a new bongo drum to add to our rhythm! (no charge but donations welcome)
Week 3 - Solo Friends
Just drop in for a cuppa and some cake and chat! It’s a great place to meet other people who live on their own and to have a catch up; it’s very informal and friendly (no charge but donations welcome)
Week 4 - Art for Wellbeing
All equipment and activities are provided there’s no charge but donations welcome!

Thursday Together 2pm - 4pm

Week 1 - Men Only
A meet up supporting Men's Health and cookery. A cooking demo with Xavi. As well as the usual Men Only Catch up and banter – so bring your mates

Come and try the class to see if you would like it!
Week 3 - Digital Together
Our Digital Together supports older people to access IT bring along a question for us to answer! You can just come for a cuppa! We can help with passwords safety on the internet setting up new equipment and sorting out other digital challenges accessing the NHS app etc…..
You can also come along and have a play using Virtual Reality for mindfulness on our VR (virtual reality) Headsets for some wellbeing time! You really don’t have to be an expert we will help with simple set ups and how to use your phone one to one. It’s amazing to see the world 3D, listen to music performances etc.

Week 4 - The Jammers
Bring out your instruments or just enjoy a cuppa and a listen!
We also now have our own Bongo Drum so you can always play the beat!
FRIDAY
Friday Dance Fitness 1.30-3.15pm
The session with Cathy starts with a cuppa and catch up then an hour of Sit/Stand dance you can do the whole seeing sitting down if you need too. The cost is £3.00. It's still subsidised, so much cheaper than other fitness activities.
